Tegemeo Institute is part of the Regional Network of Agricultural Policy Research Institutes (ReNAPRI) which is African led and driven, regionally coordinated network of national agricultural policy research institutes duly established and operating in the East and Southern Africa region.

Through its Annual Stakeholders Conference initiative the Network, engages public and private sector stakeholders through dialogue on the future of the regions’ pertinent agricultural issues such as Maize, Wheat, Rice and Sugar performance and commodity markets, farm-level production and marketing systems, socio-economic factors driving change in agriculture in the region amongst other endeavors. In 2015, ReNAPRI held its second annual stakeholder conference in Maputo, Mozambique with the theme “Anticipating the Future of Agriculture in Eastern and Southern Africa: Outlook for Maize, Wheat, Rice and Sugar.”

During the conference which drew attendance of stakeholders from Africa and beyond, various issues were discussed. Tegemeo being an active member of the network participated in all the sessions with Dr. Mary Mathenge, the Director of Tegemeo Institute and also the Vice-Chair of the ReNAPRI board chairing and moderating discussions in session 2 of Day 1 and the closing session of Day 2 of the conference. Mr. Raphael Gitau, a researcher at Tegemeo also presented results on the scenario analysis on the outlook of Maize, Wheat, Rice and Sugar.
