MLE Units's Scoping study on Monitoring, Learning and Evaluation in the agricultural sector in Kenya

Tegemeo Institute under the Measurement, Learning and Evaluation (MLE) Unit in partnership with the Evaluators Society of Kenya (ESK) conducted a scoping study on Monitoring, Learning and Evaluation in the agricultural sector in Kenya. The survey was aimed at appraising the market (demand, supply and practices) for MLE services in the agricultural sector in Kenya and the East African region.

The results of the study will inform the strategic direction and activities of the two institutions as they pursue their goals of improving the MLE service industry in Kenya and the E. African region, under the African Evaluation Association (AFREA) banner.

This market survey was also intended to help understand the structure and conduct of the MLE market in the region. It describes who is in the MLE market and their conduct in terms of how and/or where clients and service providers converge, how MLE services are determined, and the MLE capabilities and capacity needs in Kenya and the region. It will subsequently inform the long term goal of creating an MLE service providers network in the region, specify and prioritize MLE services and help align capacity building to the market needs/priorities.
